Current Action Plan

  1. Appoint a Civic Hall Manager
  2. Support extension of Shay Lane Industrial Estate
  3. Investigate the potential to create a one-way system in the town along Berry Lane, Kestor Lane and Derby Road and introduce pedestrian crossings
  4. Facilitate and support the introduction of new footpaths/cycle links and bridleways
  5. Improve knowledge and use of existing community transport schemes and investigate the potential for other schemes.  To investigate the options for a bus terminus
  6. .Expand sporting provision through improved access to existing facilities, particularly for swimming.  To work closely to support Longridge High School Sports Centre and St Cecelias Sports Hall to provide sporting facilities for the community
  7. Investigate potential improvements to The Palace Cinema/Theatre to ensure its sustainability
  8. Investigate the potential to improve the Library provision in Longridge
  9. Investigate the potential of former and existing reservoirs to be used as community facilities
  10. Centralized information point to be created in the town
  11. Website creation
  12. Increase pride in the appearance of Longridge, to offer general support for improving/maintaining the appearance.
  13. Improve and strengthen links with other community groups.
  14. To investigate the possibility of Longridge in Bloom.
  15. To offer assistance to improve the show ground. To offer more support for the Longridge Show.
  16. To support the needs of and continue to promote the wellbeing of young people in the Valley.
  17. To support the needs of and continue to promote the wellbeing of older people in the valley.

  19. Continue to support the Heritage and History of Longridge.
  20. To support agencies which promote assistance, in particular to support the Citizens Advice Bureau.
